Dear haynet-friends,
Here you find a few photos, which will give you an idea of how and where the nets can be put up. Photos where you can see that several horse can eat from both sides on one net.
Each picture can be clicked for a larger view.
Simply tightened between two well put up fencing posts.
The reason why it is so important to eat in a natural head-low-posture is because otherwise the jaws are not positioned exactly one above the other. Because of that sharp edges are grated into the teeth and the result is that horses then are not able to grind other food as well. Therefore: make sure that your horse keeps the head low while eating.
Here it is possible to eat from both sides.
Put up between two trees just with strong ropes. Like this the haynet accompanies the horses to where they are supposed to be.
If the pasture’s supply is not much use anymore, the horses will eat from the net.
When there is no haynet on the pasture the horses nibble on the turf (attention: colic danger with too much ingestion of sand). Such an eaten up pasture is not enough to feed a herd.
The micro-organisms in the intestine can die – which increases the danger of founder.
Further more you can see a documentation how the net can be filled within a few seconds.
In real time sequences we have provided here small AVI-films to download which last about 20 seconds. Here you can see just how easy the using is for the human being as well.
